slow response in faceplate

I have one 800XA 5.1 rev A version.

response in one workplace is too slow.

the system have two conectivity/aspect servers in redundat configuration, one batch server one IM server and one client.

only in client operator station the response is too slow to open any faceplate ( 5 -8 seconds)

What can i do to improve this response?

Right click on faceplate and open diagnostic from context menu. On the timing tab of diagnostic window which operation do you see that is taking most time> navigation, graphics or subscription.

That sound too much.

1) Can you post an image of "Timing tab"?
2) What OPC Server deliver data to the slow displays?

3) How many OPC items

This happend only in this client in server it works ok, AC800M connect OPC server.
I will check for OPC items

OPC Items 8600

By Stefan Stromqvist on 7/6/2017 | Like (0) | Report

The images say 17 items and 1.6 seconds total time which is "small & fast" compared to the figures you mentioned above? Misunderstanding?

8600 items is a lot for one display. Performance guide says 1 second per 800 items.

Or is 8600 the total figure through OPC server?

8600 is total through OPC

1.6 seconds is not "that" bad.

Are the diagnostics reporting 1.6 seconds while real-time measurement show 5-8 seconds?

Are the 6-8 a constant value (never faster)? You should exclude first time navigations following workplace startup as there is overhead connecting to a system and subsequently to a DA Connector service provider.

In the absense of Late Binding and with diagnostics showing ~1.5 seconds when in reality it takes 5-8 seconds for repeated callups of the same subset of displays for one client out of many others I would start to suspect a problem with a graphics driver, hardware acceleration and/or 3rd party software like .NET.

Is client virtualized? RDP and Terminal Server will eat from the performance budget. More if server core speed is slow. Best performance is with rich clients and top-of-the-line GHz (not # of cores). Many thin clients run on inferior low power CPUs which even more affect final result.

Is network tested to 100 or 1000 mbit/s? Can you copy a 100MB or 1GB file in less than 15 seconds between client and servers (measure both directions)?

Is the ABB Application Log service in Windows running under the service account in the client computer?

Is the workplace launched traditionally or via LogOn Script/Group Policy? The latter is not proper method and I have seen poor performance when used anyway.

It is not Virtualized,
Network is ok
abb app log service is ruuning with a service account,
workplace is launched traditionally.

I increase virtual memory and improve a little now there is 3 to 5 seconds to open any faceplate.

OK, Elemravis lead might be worth continuing on.
