Windows 10 support for single node Aspect / Connectivity Server 800xa 6.0.3.1?

Hello guys,

I saw on the ABB website that there is Windows 10 support for ABB 800xA version 6.0.3: http://new.abb.com/control-systems/system-800xa/800xa-dcs..
.

Is this only for clients or also for servers? I am looking for a simple (cheap) solution for a very small 800xA single node demo system which we will use for internal training etc. I know it is possible to run 800xA 6.0.3 on Windows 8.1.

This is what I found in the release notes of 6.0.3.1:

Support for multiple Operating Systems

Windows Server 2012 R2, which is the server operating system supported from the start of version 6, went End of Sales in October 2017. Even though support for Server 2016 is now added, support for Server 2012 R2 is kept in parallel in version 6.0.3.1. For workstations the operating system Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB is now supported. Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 2015 LTSB are also supported in parallel, thus providing the same possibility with overlapping support both for the server operating system and the workstation operating system.

It's possible to use Windows 10 as single node, but there are restrictions. Maximum of 4 node functions as to 8 in server hardware + software. Only Windows 10 enterprise iot ltsb 2015 / 2016 is supported. Windows 10 pro is not supported.

HI

You can very well use the same.

We are using the same configuration even on site for a very small system required at packaging plant.

Best Regards,

Rachit
