VBPG Graphic Fonts become oversized and unreadable.

I have a customer with some graphics problems following an upgrade from SV4.1 to SV5.1

After some time working normally, some of the Labels on graphic displays become oversized - and are unreadable. Once this happens, all graphics are affected, and the workplace must be closed and re-opened to resolve the issue. Screen shots are attached.

All these graphics worked correctly on SV4.1. The system was recently upgraded from SV4.1 to SV5.1 Rev E Feature Pack 4. All graphics are Visual Basic PG.

Anyone seen anything like this before ?

It is really strange. It looks like issue deals with Resize function and wrong font size of particular font types, since only certain font types are affected.

Try to change font type. Try to modify Resize function to avoid font size calculation.

I hope it helps. Kamil

I've searched for issues with VB font resizing. There are some known, but really only very small changes with higher DPI settings. This doesn't seem to be that problem. The concern is that the workplace works normally for quite some time before the outsized fonts appear.

We have the same issue at our plant and we also use SV5.1 and the same revision and FP as your customer. This happens 1-2 times per month and we restart the workplace. We are currently converting our graphics from VB to PG2 and have not experienced the same issue with PG2 graphics.

Any chance you have an open supportline case number ?

Unfortunately no. We have not reported the case due to the conversion to PG2 Graphics.

Can you contact me off forum please .... info at lymac.co.nz

I would like to know how old your 800xA system is. Was it previously upgraded from a version earlier than 4.1 ? Does it have any modifications to the VB code running behind each graphic - specifically the UserResize event ?
