Time Sync from AC800M Controller to Esxi NTP Client

Is it possible to Sync a AC800M Controller using its NTP Server function to sync the Esxi NTP Client ?

Customer Sync's the AC800M Controller to the Virtual Connect Server using standard setup. However he would like to also Sync the Esxi Server to the same Controller. The Virtualization Manual explains how to setup the NTP Client and point to a NTP Server or a Windows NTP server but it does say they must be on the same Network as the Esxi Management Network. This allows access from Esxi Management Network to Controller.

This is where we are stuck. Customers Management Network is not on the Same IP Class or network as the Control Network for Obvious reasons. Is there any way to still point to the AC800M Controllers NTP Server ?

Can you bridge or Route the Management Network safely to the Controller ?

Create another virtual Network just for TimeSync purpose in connectivity server and link Host to it.
Controller -> Connectivity Server on CNCP
Connectivity server -> ESXi Host on SNTP over new Virtual Network.

I did look at that but is it not better to get the Time from a Source when the Esxi Server Boots up the first time ?. The Connect VM would not be running at this time. When the Connect VM boots it will first get it's time from the Esxi Server then get its time from the Controller this could be a Step Change.

ESXi hosts are pretty good in holding time accurately so it is not going to be a big step change.

You must open up a route between the ESXi management network and the controller, UDP port 123.

The AC 800M controller can do default gateway but does also support manual entry of a static route, refer to IPConfig tool / OnLine Help. Let ICMP Echo (ping) be enabled while setting up the route. When ping work from ESXi, SNTP (UDP port 123) should work too (then turn off ping in firewall to tighten up security again).

I know plenty of sites where the ESXi host management interfaces are located on the client server network, but can understand if this customer does not like it.

My experience of ESXi NTP Client is limited. I've seen many projects having issues with getting ESXi host to "hook on" to the NTP source. It seems like they need to be within a second or less before it will "hook on". I recommend enabling & using SSH into the ESXi host and use low level NTP tracing command (forgot exact name) to verify the synchronization to be operational (time difference within a handful of microseconds)
