Technical help on codesys v2.3

Hi

i have a plc PM554-T with PS553-Drives A0 SD card. When i login with control builder plus v2.1.0 , it's ok . But when i login with codesys 2.3.9.28 i got an error " the selected PLC profile not match the profile of the target" ?

is it a firmware error, i need to upgrade firmware of the plc or firmware of codesys

Thank youu

Hi

IMHO no, simply access with Automation Builder is the correct procedure, while access directly and only from Codesys is not the right procedure.
Always use the Automation Builder platform for access to your PLC, and launch the application CoDeSys from Automation Builder suite

Hope this help you

Thank you for your response, but using control builder plus can only monitor the plc, can not download the code into plc, we need codesys login to download code into plc

Yes, of course, the Control Builder is the suite where you define the architecture of your application, such I/O mapping and communication settings. Later you can use Codesys to download to the cpu the executive code

so i wonder why i can login with control builder plus but can't login with codesys . maybe my codesys is in lower firmware version than the firmware in plc, i try to log in 2 different plc PM554 and got the same problem. How can i upgrade the firmware of my codesys or downgrade the firmware of the plc

As I told you, the normal flow of operations is to start with the control builder and then activate codesys from within the control builder to get the correct connection to the plc.

Only the very old versions with FW 1.1- 1.2, I think, could only be programmed with codesys, but I do not recommend it, because you will lose all the benefits of using the control builder, also if you have a new cpu it is not said that you can do a downgrade to such an old version of the FW

yes i do follow the instruction, i open the project in control builder first then open codesys which is integrated into control builder by double click the programing line (AC500), i watch some youtube video and they can login by both control builder and codesys.i already login with control builder and when i switch to login by codesys it say " plc profile not match" . i think there is something wrong with my codesys, i install it by abb usb stick.
