Remote access of IO using DP/DP coupler

I have 9-DI821, 3-DO820 & 1-AI810 cards, if I want to communicate all these cards connected in PM851A via profibus to PM866 using Siemens DP/DP coupler then what type of byte system require to configure while downloading GSD.

As advised in your previous questions - please provide a sketch of what you want to do, for better understanding

Why you don't connect directly these IO's by Profibus to PM866, without PM851?

You need to go read the manual for the DP/DP coupler.

You cannot read the IO modules directly. Each IO Module can only have **ONE** Master and you can only have **ONE** master on the profibus. So if the cards belong to the PM851A, then you need to read / write the IO channels in the PM851A then copy the values to and from the DP/DP coupler.

The PM866 cannot read and write to the IO modules directly - only to the PM851A via the DP/DP coupler. So whatever bytes you choose to configure in the DP/DP coupler is up to you.

Better you can do the MMS communication between the PM866 and PM851 by connecting a ethernet cable to control network and send the datas using MMS variable, due to more number of signal transfer u can do the MMS communication it will better choice.

My advise is for that option too !
Or to connect the additional few IO modules as remote Profibus DP IO's directly to PM866, if it has already installed CI854
