Problem with ABB License Entry

Dear All,

I think I have a problem with ABB License Entry.

We are doing new project in my plant and I have got new license file from ABB (all licenses that I have in the past + new one in one file).

To import it I have opened ABB License Entry and I have chosen "File -> Load / Replace Licenses..." after that I have pointed to new license file.

At that point everything looks ok. I see my old and new licenses in ABB License Entry.

The problem is that for example when I connect my new AC800M to my control network I see error in License status viewer.

What is more when I open License Usage aspect from my Admin Structure I see that licenses are not refreshed (I see only old thing).

Even when I try to click File->Force License Cycle in ABB License Entry it is not refreshing anything.

Do you have any tips for me?

Best regards,

Bartosz

Hello,

Mention the system version as licensing mechanism varies from version to version.

Starting from 5.1 licensing mechanism runs from local services (each nodes has ABB Client license provider and it should run with service account).

Do/ensure the following:

1.Ensure you have enough licenses for AC800M tag red/non-red licenses as required.

2.Do remove the license file first through license entry and confirm its gone from license cache from program files (primary aspect server).

3.load the fresh license and do the license force cycle.

4.Ensure ABB Client license provider running with automatic on service account

Sorry I forgot to mention my system version which is 5.1 FP4 Rev E.

Today after a night I see that everything is ok so the system refheshed licenses. The question is why do I have to wait so long?

Best regards,

Bartosz
