Phoenix IB IL I/O devices in 800xA using Profibus

Has anybody configured Phoenix I/O modules on Profibus using IB IL BK DP/V1 cluster in AC800M ?

Im looking for predefined library or modules, especially for analog handling AI4-I and AO- 2SF. Is there a hardware library file available v6?

We've used the Phoenix I/O modules on Profinet, but not Profibus, sorry. However, configuring the HWD files for control builder from the GSD files is an exercise worth doing yourself. You will end up with the correct drivers for the correct modules configured the way YOU want them.

A couple of things we learned ....

1. You MUST use the correct GSD or GSDML file - The Hardened I/O modules are not the same as the regular I/O modules even though they claim to be. We had to go back to Phoenix Contact several times because the correct files were not on their website. This should not be an issue for you unless you are using the XC series of modules.

2. Phoenix I/O modules use "Siemens" style addressing where the High and Low bytes are swapped. You need to swap the bytes back again when you build the Hardware Definition. This means you need to go into the advanced settings and figure out how to map all the bytes to the correct channels. ( Another good reason why you should do this yourself instead of trusting somebody else )

3. You can set up "zero" or "one" based addresses, - which is basically the identity of the first I/O channel in the module - so you can address 0..31 or 1..32, whichever you prefer. Since we were converting S5 programs and I/O to AC800 it made more sense for us to use zero based adresses.
