PM554 Digital Output terminals

Hi all,

I am using PM554 PLC to control High Mast Lights. In PLC side we have DOs DO1, DO1.....DO5. On the contactors side two terminals are there.

So which which other terminal is to be used other than the DOs.

In short along which terminals in PLC Dc voltage is generated when a particular DO is triggered.

Thank you

Look in the tech doc, for example - or type PM554 in google:

p;LanguageCode=fr&LanguageCode=it&LanguageCode=ru&Languag
eCode=sv&LanguageCode=zh&DocumentPartId=&Action=Launch

You didn't specify the model of the CPU !

If you have designation DO1..DOx that means most probably you have transistor outputs. Then DO0, DO1... is active end of the output (+24VDC). The other end for the output (contactor) will be M (-24VDC) - the same used to power supply the PLC.

Please note - terminals 19 and 20 (UP and ZP) also have to be connected to the power supply, so ZP (20) is also -24VDC

Model is AC500 PM554 ETH..And we have digital outputs as DOx.

For PM554-ETH digital outputs could be only transistor. Look my answer above, it is correct.
Some other models have relay outputs, but that is not this case.

PM5xx-TP.. = transistor output
PM5xx-RP.. = relay output

Usually 24VDC lamps you can connect directly to transistor DO. Each output channel is 0,5A at 24VDC

Dear friend,

Refer these 2 screenshots .you will get a clear IDEA.

you want to Add a relay between PLC and contactors. That relay act as a Protection device for PLC.In most case Coil voltage of contactors is 230 v AC. but your PLC gives 24 V DC as a DO.

So Relay activated by DO.that relay will provide the Coil supply for your Contactors
