Modbus TCP Communication Failure - AC800M to Yokogawa DCS

Hello All,

At one of our customer site, an AC800M with 800xA System (Combined AS/CS) is used for collecting the signals from Plant Elecrtical System (LV/MV Switchgears, Drives, Transformers etc..) and sending it to plant DCS System.

The AC800M Communicates to Electrical System through Modbus TCP Interfaces and also few signals on direct hardwired. Also some equipments connected through OPC.

The communication to DCS (Yokogawa) is through Modbus TCP.

Customer reported that they are getting Loss of Data (IOP) reported in Yokogawa DCS for the signals received from ABB AC800M Systems. The problem is intermittent only and gets normalized with in quick time on its own.

While checking the System Alarms/Event list in 800xA Server, no errors were reproted at the same time of DCS reported problem. However customer/DCS guys, suspects the problem is with AC800M Side and request support for trouble shooting this.

Kindly share your views on how to truoble shoot this further.

The 800xA System is 5.1

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hello, could you upload the controller log in order to check the CI867 messages?

Hello, I have exactly the same problem in one of our plants. AC 800M with CI867 Modbus TCP communication to Yokogawa System. Communication fails (IOP) intermittent for about one second and normalizes itself. No Alarm can be seen on AC 800M. Do you have a solution for you problem?
