Loss of IAC between 2 applications within the same controller during download

Thanks for your response.

As per current logic SAFETY data type is passed (through IAC) from one SIL2 application to another SIL2 applications. SAFTY data types are connected to an AND_SAFETY_Type and tend to as final element. In this configuration if SAFETY.Forward.Connect in SAFETY data type becomes false for a second, will trigger the Trip_Order = TRUE. How we can overcome this issue? We have multiple cases like this in our plant.

Sorry, programming Safety logic is not my cup of tea. I'm sure there are other forum members that can answer this question.

In old Advant Controllers we used to put TOFF (Toggle to off with timer) on communication blocks to be able to extend the time before a link is considered "down" (and hence be able to delay a trip).

I got feedback from an initiated person; you might be using the REUSE library from O&G. If so, you should ask them for assistance.

I got a formula for calculating a suitable timeout:

If IAC group interval time is > 500ms then
Timeout = Server application task interval + IAC group interval × 2 + 1.5 × RNRP Send Period.
If IAC group interval time is ≤ 500ms then
Timeout = Server application task interval + IAC group interval × 3 + 1.5 × RNRP Send Period.
