Is it possible to unlock the libraries of ABB project?

I need to know that is it possible to unlock the libraries in ABB project? I am trying to upgrade CB v3.2 to 5.0, after upgradation some error messeges are shown due to SerialLib. I want to change SerialLib library to SerialCommLib but due to password protection I am unable to repalce the library.

Can you do some help?

If a library is locked there exist no other alternative than to provide the correct password.

In exceptional cases, a locked library can be opened by R&D using a debugger. However, before R&D may consider assisting you, you must first prove that you are the lawful owner of the intellectual property protected by the password. Normally, this procedure is offered at a charge.

In any case, please have a support case registered with your regional ABB support center.

Fully agree with Stefan. You can unlock the library if you have the pass, but I think you don't need that for upgrade. I upgraded 3.2 project to 5.0, but if I remember right, you have to go from 3.2 to 4.1 and then to 5.0. Look in the corresponding manuals

But I don’t have CB v4.1.thats why I directly upgrade 3.2 to 5.0

You can ask a local ABB for support first

I'm pretty sure you will be denied access to any of the standard libraries coming with System 800xA sucg as SerialLib.

Upgrading to a later version of 800xA require you to adapt your own code to match the new functions, e.g. in SerialCommLib.

From version 3.1 release notes:

Serial Library
SerialLib has been renamed to SerialCommLib.
The following steps are necessary:
1. Open the project where SerialLib is still connected to the applications/libraries.
2. Insert the SerialCommLib library to the project.
3. Connect the SerialCommLib to the applications/libraries in the project.
4. Disconnect SerialLib from the applications/libraries. All Function Blocks will
automatically be replaced.

Dear Stefen, I tried to dothe same practice but serial lib is connected craneStandardLib. And craneStandardLib doesn’t allow me connect or disconnect any library.

Any other way? Or if I can send project file to you?

Obviously, you need to speak to the supplier of craneStandardLib about obtaining a version matching the 800xA version you are using.
