Is it possible to split a propertyref in PG2?

I'm working on a project where we have quite similar set up for several engines. The tag names are all the same excepet for one number in the property reference for each engine.

So is there a way to split up one reference and add a number in the middle.

.

.

Example of how the reference look like,

$'Engine1/EngineTemps/Test/PV:Value'

$'Engine2/EngineTemps/Test/PV:Value'

.

what I want to do, is to have a expression variable integer that can be changed so all references in that graphical display is updated

.

$' (Engine + expression variable + /EngineTemps/Test/PV:Value)'

It is possible to solve it using functions LateBoundPropertyRef(objectPath, aspectName, propertyName,Boolean unique, updateRate) inside PG2 for every reference.

However extensive LateBound usage leads to PG2 performance drop. So LateBound should not be used for majority of dynamic references of the graphic.

Another solution may be using of GraphicsXmlTool.exe tool located in /bin folder where Process Portal A is installed. This tool can export text Xml code of existing PG2 graphic. You can modify object names by replace ctrl-h function in any text editor and to import modified xml code for Engine2 back to 800xA to the new PG2 graphic.

Where we have several 100% identical units - we draw our graphics in the object type structure. Thay way you only need to change one place.
