Is it possible to insert object from One structure to another via BDM in 800xA?

I want to insert some objects from COntrol structure to Functional structure. Is it possible to do it via BDM in 800xA?

These are the steps I followed:

 

I used an Alarm Analysis object which has many references:

 


 


We have only one instance of the object and one functional structure aspect:

 

 

 

After Drag and Dropping the functional structure aspect onto the first line and the Alarm Analysis object onto the second one, we get:

 


 

To insert the object into another one, I place the pointer in the same object and click on "Save all". Object ID and Source don't change:

 


 

The object gets inserted (check icon) and same data is kept:

 


 

Now the original object contains the reference to the inserted object. Two functional structures total:

Hi Oscar,

Thanks for your reply. Here you have tried inserting from FS to FS. I tried inserting from CS to FS earlier using same method. Instead of inserting object it created duplicates.

Hi Santhanam, same principle applies, just change the Basic Property value to: [DIRECT][Functional Structure]Root.YourObjectName
