Integration of Allen Bradley Compact logix controller to Compact HMI through OPC

Hello,

We need to connect Allen Bradley Compact Logix controller to ABB Compact HMI through OPC. Can anybody share the configuration steps we need to do to get the AB controller data in Compact HMI?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, you can use RSLinx OPC server to get the data in Compact HMI. In RSLinx please reffer the OPC Topic configuration part to configure your compact logix controller. There are other software also available other than RSLinx(Ingear OPC server, Matrikon OPC Server).

Hope this will help.

Thanks & Regards

For the OPC connection to the A-B  I will consider Kepware server Allen Bradley suite, since it is cheaper than A-B products. I don't know your specific hardware configuration to give a step by step procedure, but if you choose kepware, send them your connection specifics and they will help you configuring the driver, they help me once by email and in less than an hour I was connected to the 3rd party plc.

From there, OPC server connection (e.g. kepware) to the Compact HMI OPC client should be easy following the manuals our collegues just pointed at you.

Thanks for your info. We have planned to use Wonderware OPC server.
