In ACS355 drives, what type of torque control is? Is it DTC?

Hi

no, ACS355 do not have DTC technology for torque control

DTC is available only in ACS800 - ACS850 - ACS880

What kind of application do you have?
You may not need to use the DTC but the ACS355's only vector control

Hi Flavio,
Thanks a lot to your answer.
I am trying to figure out what kind of torque control is applied in ACS355 drive. Since I am developing a induction motor drive model which is controlled by torque in Matlab/simulink and will use this drive in experiment. Is the schematic available? or are there more details about this vector control?

Hi
Torque control in ACS355 inverters is based on an algorithm that calculates performance from the absorbed current values and the rotor position that is estimated, always with a math algorithm.
The information requested not think that they are available, because it is specific patents ABB

And the reason why I thought it might be DTC is that in its user manual, it says it doesn't need any speed feedback from motor shaft.

Thank you so much for your replies!

Hi
as you have just understand, the position of the rotor is estimated with algoritm. If you use one encoder for feedback, the torque control increase, the in terms of performance. Of course you need to do the ID run routine in the drive, before using torque control

So can I say it is a sensorless field oriented control? And does ID run routine mean configuration? I am sorry that I didn't know it before.

Exact,
It's a sensorless control. The functioning without identification - ID run routine - is not possible.

Thank you so much for your answers, they are really helpful. Have a good weekend.

Just a clarification: An encoder does not help the torque loop in an ACS355. It is only used for the speed loop.
