Freelance v9.2 SP1 hardware update

We have in my company a DCS system with AC800F, running with Freelance V9.2 SP1 under Windows 7 32bits. We have 4 computers (one server and 3 stations) running every day since at least 8 years. So I need to upgrade the hardware as soon as possible but not software version.

Could you tell me if I change the hardware, I don't need to reload the controller firmware ? I can change a computer, one by one, in production environment, it will be transparent for the users ?

Thanks for help

no need to reload the controllers. It will not be fully transparent, as you have to shut down every computer a certain time.

What is the purpose of the server? Trend server? Stopping the trend server will affect all Operator stations.

Are hardware locks used for licensing?

The biggest issue could be that you most likely have to stay on Windows 7 even with new hardware, please check the Freelance release notes.

Best regards

Hi Juergen,
Ok, it's not fully transparent but I don't need to reload, it's a good new for me :)
I think that I'll change every operator station one by one in a first time, don't forget to reconnect usb dongle on the new station. After that I will change the server (OPC Server + Trend) during a production shutdown.
I bought new Windows 7 32bits license for every station

don´t forget that you can only use W7 on 32bit since you have SP1.
