DCS 800 Fieldbus Parameters Reset Itself

Hi,

We are running DCS 800 with PLC via RPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP Adapter module. The drive had been running properly as usual until it suddenly stopped today. After checking the control panel, i noticed that all the fieldbus parameters (group 51) (except parameters 51.01 and 51.02) have reset to default values. As far as i know, the fieldbus parameters can not be changed without external intervention.

To solve the problem, we just replaced the adapter module and its connector with new ones and adjusted the fieldbus parameters. The drive is running properly for now. But i am confused about how the fieldbus parameters were set to default(factory) values. Is it possible that the drive's pcb card caused to resetting default values? Or what do you suggest for permanent solution?

Thanks in advance

Hi

it's really a very strange failure. I've never had such a thing, so the suggestion I give you is, as you did, replacing the RPBA module.
I can not explain why the data are back to the default, unless a failure is also on the drive, but I think this can be ruled out because you tell me it's working now.
What kind of PLC is there as a master?

We use Siemens s7 400, Mr. Mussolin. I just noticed that I misspecificate something. Actually, the drive was running but it caused communication fault on plc's HMI screen. When i checked the Drive's control panel, i saw all group 51 parameters (except 51.01 and 51.02) were set to default values. What i know is the fieldbus parameters can not be changed in any condition ( unless someone interfere which did not happen). All i ask; is there any way to change group 51 parameters to default values without local command?

Thanks

Hi
AFAIK, no. First because the modification of parameters during functioning could be dangerous, then because after every change in group 51, to make the changes effective, the drive/RPBA need to update the modification with parameter 51.27 - FBA PAR REFRESH.

It seems to me very difficult that the PLC try to overwrite the data in the RPBA ... also because if you have not changed anything in the plc, the plc do not have to do it
