I am working on AC800M with ABB SCADA CHMI, i want to give status of Redundant controllers i.e, which one is Primary and which one is secondary with their status in SCADA.

How to do it?

Thanks in Advance.

You can use Hardware Status bit which is available under Controller.

But how a can a single bit can tell that which one is primary and secondary at a particular time. Will it change after my switchover when my current secondary will become primary after switchover. Please if there is any procedure..
Thanks for your quick reply but i need little deep help for it.

i think it is for 800xA, i need to do same in CHMI with Compact Control Builder.

Yes, but I believe you have access to the Hardware Unit OPC items even in CHMI.

Bit 31 of Extended Status will tell if primary or backup is active.

The ExtendedStatus can be read from AC 800M OPC server by a 3rd party OPC client

=> PLC Connect in CHMI should also be able to provide it to you.

Hello Mr. Stefan,

Is it possible to read the bit value of any particular bit position of the ExtendedStatus OPC tag, directly in 800xA/ CHMI, without having to first unpack the integer value to individual bit status values in the controller?

Any Syntax like OPCTag.0 or OPCTag.B0

Sorry, no idea right now (I have less knowledge in PLCC)

Okay. It seems like we have to unpack an integer in AC800M Controller (Ex: ExtendedStatus) to obtain the status of its individual bits and then assign variable names to the required bits. The bool data type variables representing individual bit statuses will then be available via OPC for use in graphics.

Object type structure ------->Control system --------> AC 800 M /connect ----------> Libraries --------> Hardware -------> Select object like PM 866.

Click on that and add new aspect ------> Graphics display PG2.

Now click that aspect -----> Edit ------> add some icon like box/circle --------> in that right click ------> Properties ------> fill options

Expression editor will open.

Write the reuired if else condition for ststus display.

To choose tags, object structure icon in that expression editor -----> Select module like PM 866 ------> All tags will display in that select HWstate tag and write expression.

After that parse expression for syntax checking and save.

After this an HW status icon generated. Now in graphics editing, choose control structure and select controller u can find HW status icon. U can drag and drop in display anywere like other objects copying from library.

This procedure applicable for all objects.

Attaching the image for refecence where i created status layout.
