Target Settings:

Codesys>>Resources Tab>>Target Settings

Symbol File Location:

With the AB2.1 Project kept opened, browse through the below path. Both the .SDB and .SYM file will be available (Symbol file Configuration must be done in Codesys).

C:\Users\<Computer Name>\AppData\Local\Temp\CoDeSys\<Temporary folder Name>

The Symbol file can also be exported from the context menu of the Codesys Application.

Hello Rahil;

I really appreciate your attention and help, I already could find symbol files and export it, but I cannot do run Codesys OPC Server yet.

In the file Application.SYM_XML I can view my variable list, but I do not know how to link to the Codesys OPC, could you give me any additional advice?

In Target settings Check the option `Download Symbol File`.

Doing this will cause a copy of the symbol file to also be downloaded into the PLC`s memory.

When the OPC server connects to the PLC via a predefined driver,it uses the symbol file residing in the memory to create an item list of all OPC variables.These variables will then be made available to a subscribing OPC client.

Do you know any way in order to simulate it? I try to mean without the PLC.

You are welcome.Use MatrikonOPC simulator.In earlier versions of AB,it was part of the testing tools bundled with the software.Am not sure whether it is still part of AB2.x.Search for it in the tools folder of the software installation package.
I dont remember whether the tags in the symbol file can be simulated or we have to create dummy tags,for the purpose testing connectivity of an OPC client.
Search the internet for alternatives.
