Can you Export a 5.0 SP2 CBM Project and Import into 6.0.3 System ?

Here is the situation:

Customer did a parallel upgrade System 1 is a 5.0 SP2 REV E system. System 2 is a new upgraded system running 6.0.3.

Everything went well and System 2 is running in Parallel with System 1. Both can Connect to OPC and read data on graphics.

AC800M Controller still have the 5.0SP2 Project and Firmware has not been upgraded. They will use Coexistance for now.

Here is the Problem:

When they opened the exact same project in 6.0.3 it asked to Upgrade they said Yes then asked to Upgrade Libraries they said Yes.

They actually should of answered NO to the Libraries so they can run Coexistance Firmware.

The only way to revert this is delete the system and restore again which they hope is not the only way.

Question:

Can they Export the 5.0 SP2 Project (No changes have been made) and Import this Project into 6.0.3 and then open it again and answer the question correctly ?

Thanks

Miro

Hi,

I think you can try this first

I assume 6.0.3 system is restored using 5.0SP2revE system Aspect Directory back up and it retains HW library BasicHW lib 5.0 or whichever was used in 5.0 SP2RevE system

If so

then insert Hardware library BaseHWlib 5.0.xxxx (used previously) in CBM Library -> Hardware

after this replace BaseHWlib 6.0.x with BaseHWlib5.0.xxxx under Controllers ->Controller name -> Connected Libraries

I think a warm dowloaded will be required but you can continue with Coexistence

Hope this will help you in resolving the issue.

Hello,

As 5.0 sp2 onwords controllers with old firmware can blessed to talk to new CBM and Opc server.

So as part of coexistence u can keep same hw lib 5.0 in 6.0.x system so once porject has been upgraded old hw lib will be replaced with new 6.0 hw lib then it needs to controller OLU(ensuring no changes has been done to apps).

Ur case u have already upgraded d project hence old hw lib gets replaced by new 6.0 so if u want to keep at old 5.0hw lib then u have to perform the upgrade the system again from 5.0 to 6.0.

It's NOT possible to import project from old system to new system as dependencies broken
