CI590 MAX IO

I would like to ask you about the max IO of CI590 module.

At the datasheet of device refered that the maximum number of IO are 240 DI

and 240 DO. When I put 6 DI524 the configuration is correct.

However when I try to put another one DI 524 (7*32=224) the AUTOMATION BUILDER display the below error:

"PLC_AC500: Max amount of DI exceeded for device:CI590_CS31_1".

Do you have any idea why this happen?

Dear alex,

The maxium limit is 240 digital inputs (2 x 15 bytes) ,240 digital outputs (2 x 15 bytes) ,40 analog inputs (5 x 8 words) ,40 analog outputs (5 x 8 words).

My answer is,

In automation builder sw , If you are adding a CI590_CS31 module, check the check configuration tab, They are clearly mention that MAX num of IOs. so (2 x 15 bytes)= 30 bytes.30 * 8= 240 DI. But one DI524 module occupay the 4 bytes(4*8=32 DI).

Initially, CI590_CS31 module occupays the 3 bytes for DI & 3 Bytes for DO.

so remaining 27 Bytes only available. when 6 modules added the total bytes are 6*4=24. Then 24 added with 3( CI590_CS31 module occupays the 3 bytes) so 27. If you are adding 1 more DI524 the total bytes will be 31. DI crossing the limit of 30 Bytes.

thats why Automation builder shows the error : "PLC_AC500: Max amount of DI exceeded for device:CI590_CS31_1".

Dear vigneshwaran92rce,

thanks for your response.

I had already seen the limitation at the check configuration tab.

As you refered, the CI590 module occupays 3 bytes for DI and 3 bytes for DO.

However the CI590 it has avaliable 16 DC (2 bytes), so I cannot understand why it uses 6 bytes and not 4.

I try to googling it in order to find the reason for the above but without result.
