1. scan your IP address of your PLC through automation builder.

2.check your ETH cable

3.try to access the PLC through RS485 port then reset and check.

Hi

what version of Automation Builder / Control Builder are you using?

It's your first log to the cpu? This cpu is already running or not?

In Automation Builder you must activate the IP Scan Tool. During the scan the tool return the basic IP adress of the CPU, if the cpu is new - without any program inside.

When you have read the IP adress with the tool, you must set the Automation Builder suite - communication setup - as in the image below (adress indicate is for example):

Only after these steps you can login.

Very important: do not forget that if you provide more information about your problem, we will probably help you better.

Hope this help you

Hello Sir,

I too sometimes face this issue. This is mostly when trying to connect Codesys to the controller after downloading a modified program on to the controller via CM5x7 coupler. In my case too I am able to ping the module.A network engineer told me that its because of the coupler module not closing an earlier tcp/ip connection. This issue resolves after a power recycle of the PLC/coupler.In case of redundant system power recycle of both CPUs.Hope to know more on this.

Sometimes I am able to reconnect after I manually exit the Codesys gateway. In the inspector tab of the gateway, I have observed that the Data packets counter remains 0 and after a time period, the gateway automatically aborts the attempt to connect to the controller. When the connection is okay, the data packet counter increments indicating data exchange.
Sometimes I suspect this happens because of the settings in the Modbus Server configurations or due to issues with socket utilization.

This type of problem was more common with earlier versions of Control Builder - Automation Builder 1.xx
Since I use the 2.0x platform the problem has virtually disappeared.

But our friend's question seems to be that he just can not connect ...

Hi,
I wanted to ask this as a question on the forum.Since this question was related to codesys connection,I thought of asking you.
For our upcoming projects we will be using AB 2.X.I believe the dongle for 1.2 cannot be used with 2.0 software.Hence we have to continue with 1.2.4 at existing sites.
Thanks for your reply

You are welcome.
The dongle USB key functioning correctly with both version, I used it first with version 1.2.4 and now use it with 2.0.3.
Of course you will need to purchase a new license for version 2.0
This is a bit annoying, but you can not do it at all....

Hi

AFAIK, the access to the cpu is possible ONLY with Codesys with the classic series, such PM571-581 etc.

It's normal that with your PM573 the access is possible ONLY with Control Builder, because Codesys is a part of the suite.
You need to start before the Control Builder suite and then activate Codesys to have the access to the cpu.

Hope this help you

Hi

If you start only Codesys, you need to config the communication parameter :

Online --> communication parameter as in the following image:

But if you have Control Builder, I do not understand why you want to use your cpu only with codesys
