ABB 800xA V6.0

Hi everyone, my question is: after upgrading to ABB 800xA V6.0 from V5.0 we start facing some weird behavior of our system for example:
Some graphics status errors:
- Equipments status in the WPC is stopped but in reality is still running!
- Navigation buttons in WPC (Aspect view button) do some time not respond!
- Start button inside some faceplate do not send any orders!
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a hot redundancy setup.

If you do have hot redundancy did you upgrade all linked servers simultaneously ?

For redundancy we do have 2*ASC SERVER
The upgrade setup come already done by ABB
I’m thinking maybe the solution of the “THIN CLIENT” make the synchronization between OP and server take to long

thanks for the replay

Please, please, please, always report severe errors like this through proper channels = your regional ABB service or sales representative.

Does this happen in rich clients as well?

A lot more parties becomes invited when using thin client technology. Thin client is an operating system of its own!. Rich clients with proper graphics hardware and ”3ft/1m DVI or Display Port cables” are recommended for critical process operation.

If possible, avoid ”display cord extension kits”.

The memory size (measure virtual memory or ”Commit Size” in first round using perfmon.exe *NOT* taskmgr.exe) of afwworkplaceapplication.exe may become critical - keep an eye on it. What figures do you see? If problems arrive at or above a certain level, perform precautionary restart of the workplace before this level is reached.

Ask your regional supplier for help!
