800xA F&G system

Hi

We have one PM865 used for F&G system. We use standard function block in supervisionLib and FireAndGaslib for our project.

For example in Detector2Real function block we need to log Inhibit detector in alarm event list.

but in standard function block we haven't event for inhibit.

if it possible create alarm and event in PPA without change Function block in Control Builder?

because Standard FB is locked.

If you can any solution for my problem please help me.

Thanks

Yes, but I sincerely recommend creating the event from a SimpleEventDetector or AlarmCond block in the controller. You need to find the trigger signal though.

A SoftAlarm (Alarm Expression) could give a similar apperance, but to the price of additional OPC communcation. Plus, SoftAlarms are a magnitude less (or worse) reliable than a real event or alarm collected via OPC AE from an OPC server.

Please explain to me Why SoftAlarm is less reliable according to OPC AE from Coltroller?
We have very much detector in our project. and if we use AlarmCondM and SimpleEventDetector this is very difficult and want very much time.
if we use alarm expression in object type structure its very easy. But I need to know that use Alarm Expression have What is the risk?

1. Alarm Expressions are excuted "far away" from the controller. A communication problem, etc. may prevent expressions to fire.

2. There is a 1-2 second delay in expressions due to latency in MMS and OPC layers.

3. Alarm expressions add to the OPC burden and MMS load on the controller. Data feed need to run 24x365.

4. Alarm expressions have other drawbacks making it a lesser attractive alternative than controller generated alarms (Microsoft Windows is "just" Windows not the best realtime server operating system to depend upon, hotfixes, anti-virus, networking makes whole equation much more complex, etc)

5. The maximum capacity of SoftAlarm service is difficult to fathom; overload may cause a collapse in all expressions.

Ok
Consequencly you think we should be use alarmcondm and simpleevent control module that loaded in controller.
But are you have any solution for repeat for all of detector. (We want log inhibit).
One simple way without show in control module. Because now my cotrol module is very busy.

No idea, maybe the hint from insades1 is possible?

To create an Alarm or Event out of Detector2Real block now as you you do not want to change/Wrap original block, I would suggest to create a Alarm Block in Library and connect GTHActInh/GTHHActInh or AreaInhibited to Alarm Block to Generate Alarm/Event further. You can add Name/Description Paramter to Alarm Block to get project Alarm List presentation.
