800xA AC800M Faceplate- Default view change

Hello,

In a Faceplate, how to change the default view?

I know it can be done from the config view of Faceplate -> "Default view"

But at customer site, some libraries are being used. As the libraries are locked, it is not possible to do the option.

Is there any other way to change this default view?

Customer says it should be possible for him to choose the default view, so that he can change it whenever possible.(Protected libraries are used)

Please guide.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you..But that will not help..
What i'm looking for is providing the "default view" to be handled by customer (Something like switch / changes through registry if any)..Everytime copy & paste is not possible and no one will accept..

To be more clear; customer wants option of changing "Default view" in his control. In case of copy & paste it will be a risk during upgradation of libraries or using any TC

Hello!

First as mentioned, you need a copy of the locked library, forming your own standard lib (based on locked object types). (The hard part is if you commissioned libraries already, you have to switch/replace instances in your application.)

The other part is easy:

Do an override on your aspect (MainFacePlate) and change the default view to the one you prefer (i.e. Extended/Reduced etc). Consider if you want to do this on the instance level (Control Structure) or the library level (Object Type Structure).

Drawback to this solution is you that have to keep track of your overrides manually, they will probably have to be deleted (reverted back to standard) when you face an upgrade.

Best of luck!

If the library is locked, (* hopefully *) you can add an extension library. Move the faceplate to the extension and modify it there.

Note, you cant change the default view for an individual faceplate unless you override it - which is a REALLY BAD idea. Don't let the customer do this.
